Shades of Tourmaline

Watermelon Tourmaline gets its name from the many shades of pink and greens that this gem produces. Light hints of color blending makes this stone unique. I love how the green mixes in with the pink. I recently purchased a neatly arranged shaded watermelon strand, and I just was intimidated. How can I capture all of the shades in one jewelry piece? I measured, divided, ruler in hand. Scared to cut (because no matter how prepared I am beads have a mind of their own and like to fly) I gradually made my way to disassemble the strand and divided all of the tiny 3mm stones into color teams. This is what I came up with:



I made a 2" long bead. Making it the center of attention, I wired in loose silver chain and made it a necklace:

Knockouts ;)

Hey There!!! Here is my newest addition to jeweltrinkets, I call these "knockouts", they are soooo sparkly, and that bead right there on the bottom.....well that is a
20mm swarovksi crystal bicone, bigger than what I normally dabble with. We are talking "Big-Time Gorgeous!!!!" Such a wonderful facet of colors once you put these on, very inviting! Perfect as a gift or as those one of a kind bridal earrings that just look perfect. Great for mothers day also, plan ahead!!!

One of my 2011 Resolutions...

is to keep blogging! Life just gets busier and busier! YES.. it's been well over a year since I've posted, although....I've geared my focus on producing more jewelry pieces~advertising more~and BLOGGING! More to come soon, as I have yet to photo some new rhinestone, pearl and watermelon tourmaline pieces. Below is a newcomer to my shop. Very sparkly!
