In Rememberance

A tribute to a man who recently passed away. This man was the leader of our family, my husbands father, and my son's only granddad. We were told that he had passed away, and we rushed to the hospital, a week ago. When we arrived at ICU, he was alive, able to talk and express his love for us. He didn't plan on checking out, it was a near miss. Apparently he had fluid in his lungs, and pneumonia. We as christian believers, never claim illness, we stay focused on God's healing hand and protection. We speak life. We prayed and left so that he could rest.

8 hours later we were notified of his passing.

He was more than a Father in law. We had a supportive relationship, he made sure he was a part of my family and we all shared many good times together. He was still full of life on his last day.

A miracle happened, as I mentioned before, we went to the hospital expecting the worst. God gave him time to make sure we had spoken to each other, expressed our love, and hugs. It's so amazing! He had 5 children, 4 of whom are adults, my husband being the eldest, and his last son is 10. There are so many people who he touched, not only family, but fellow church members, friends, and co-workers. The picture is of him and my son who was 2 days old.

Best of all he called me daughter. Love you Pops!

Recommendations

I have learned so much from etsy! I have found alot of valuable information just from visiting the forums. The etsy forums are so full of knowledge, that I make it a priority to check them daily.

While browsing the forums one day, a fellow etsy seller started a forum that mentioned how her sales were increasing . She explained her participation in Little Black Boxes (http://www.thelittleblackboxes.com/).

Little Black Boxes is run by Kimberlee Keane, who collects handmade sample items that sellers donate. In turn she puts together "little black boxes" inserting about 15+ handmade items plus valuable coupons from most of the sellers. These boxes are for sale once a month, and she always sells out! Not only does she assemble all the boxes, she also features each contributing seller who has donated items. She also blogs frequently about different seller's shops, purchases items for herself to review, and does giveaways. All this and she has a pleasant sense of humor!

This is a genius way to get your product into the hands
of potential buyers!

I bought the August Box and received alot of cool things, that I have used! See my picture, these are the actual items I received!
I love this concept of getting your shop noticed, and I plan on participating in the future. One of the benefits of purchasing a box is that you get to see, touch and wear what others handmake. I know that I will be purchasing items from the sellers who participated when normally I would not if not for the hands on aspect. If you have been a participant of Little Black Boxes, or have purchased your own little black box, comment and share your success story, I would love to hear it!
